Random thoughts from the clinic

Glad to finally have our blog updated! It has been an eventful few days and we are loving it! We finally have been able to eat all the food (it has all been delicious, and something Laura especially loves about Indian culture it that you are SUPPOSED to put your elbows on the table! She has been Indian all along!...at least in that one area) Although we were promised tonight we would have some lovely river fish...Laura is a little scared for that one and wishes that maybe we had told them we were vegetarians. We ate vegetarian the whole time we were here as part of the Hindu tradition leading up to Ramnavami. Everywhere we go we hear Radio Mirchi, in the car on the streets, even in surgery! Laura woke up this morning with an eye infection, not too surprising I guess given what we are doing, but we are glad that we are with eye doctors! She also has what we call "elephant feet," for some reason they have swollen up HUGE and look really really funny. It's especially lovely since in India you must take off your shoes before entering any building. Luckily everyone is so polite here that no one has mentioned it (or maybe they just think her huge feet are normal for her, it could happen!) She also is a mosquito magnet and is very jealous of Brayden, who seems to have mosquito immunity. :) Right now we are in the screening room, and across from the autorefractor, there is a Hindu calendar and a framed picture of Barak Obama...funny huh? They all love him here and follow American politics very closely, in fact, it was Dr Sinha who told us the healthcare bill passed. Here's the view from my seat:
