Global Impact Fellows With Unite for Sight
We just returned from Bihar India with a group called Unite for Sight to volunteer at the AB Eye Institute in March 2010. Unite for Sight is a non-profit organization that aims to prevent blindness by applying best practices for health care. This program works with local ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide eye exams, eye surgery, and outreach to poverty stricken communities in developing countries like Ghana, India, and Honduras. While abroad, we screened patients for cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye diseases. We participated in sight restoring cataract surgeries. Thanks to the support of SO many people, we have raised more than $3200 to support 64 cataract surgeries! This blog is meant to keep all those who have contributed to this effort informed and help them see where their donations are going.

Mix up!

Hello everyone! We are so grateful to the great response that we have been receiving in our efforts to raise funds for 64 cataract surgeries in India.

We have been in touch with some donors who informed us that they donated but it has not been recorded on our donation page. DO NOT WORRY! THE DONATION IS NOT LOST! It goes to the general Unite for Sight donation fund. However, we want to be sure that your donations go towards our efforts in Bihar India in March.

The mix up has come from a button on our Unite for Sight fundraising page. The page should greet you and say "Brayden and Laura's Fundraising page . . ." You are in the right spot. A few donors have clicked on the "donate now" button on the left hand column at the top of the page. IT IS IMPORTANT TO SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF OUR FUNDRAISING PAGE TO DONATE!! Otherwise your donation will go the the general Unite for Sight fund.
