The other thing we were able to wrap up was our glasses collection/cleaning/labeling! We received 1,000 pairs from a donor today, bringing our grand total to somewhere around 1600 pairs! That will be a huge help to the people we meet in India. We're excited to be able to see who they end up with. As we were cleaning and labeling them, there was a huge assortment of styles and shapes, so hopefully people will have some variety to pick out a pair that not only will help them see, but that they can enjoy wearing.

Global Impact Fellows With Unite for Sight
We just returned from Bihar India with a group called Unite for Sight to volunteer at the AB Eye Institute in March 2010. Unite for Sight is a non-profit organization that aims to prevent blindness by applying best practices for health care. This program works with local ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide eye exams, eye surgery, and outreach to poverty stricken communities in developing countries like Ghana, India, and Honduras. While abroad, we screened patients for cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye diseases. We participated in sight restoring cataract surgeries. Thanks to the support of SO many people, we have raised more than $3200 to support 64 cataract surgeries! This blog is meant to keep all those who have contributed to this effort informed and help them see where their donations are going.
We want to personally thank EVERYONE who has contributed to our fundraising effort for cataract surgeries in Patna, India.

Wrapping it Up
Today we are happy to report that we wrapped up two very important things...moving and glasses collection! Last night we had a moving marathon with the help of our two dear families (shout out to you guys!), got all of our boxes and furniture over to the new place, and then unpacked it all in the same night! Not too shabby for starting at 7 pm. It feels very nice to not be between apartments anymore and just settled into the new one. Now if only we could get Laura's computer fixed from that virus...luckily the computer guy at Brayd's dad's work is on that one! Another blessing!

Tonight we added a clock with current time in Patna, check it out! They are on Indian Standard Time, and do not do Daylight Savings. Should be fun to adjust to having morning here be night there and vice versa! It's getting closer, we're excited!
